The Downfall of Linear TV

"I can't wait to see what happens in my show next Monday at 8!" Sh*t no one says anymore. Why wait an entire week to watch the next episode of your show when there are platforms specifically altered to serve your binge watching disorder.

Consumers are continuing  to cut the cord with cable TV and gravitating towards streaming services. Streaming services provide users with an on demand feature that users can take advantage of at their beckon call. Platforms such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO, and others allow users to call the shots.

Up and coming generations are fully engulfed in streaming services as a means for media consumption. The 65+ demographic are truly the main source of any leftover revenue to be made by cable networks. While this age group is retires, the cable business will along with them and ultimately be forced to surrender to the streaming champions of on demand accommodations.

Bluntly, linearTV no longer caters to any audience worth targeting in order to pursue a acknowledgeable profit. Streaming is the linear Tv and there is no sign of its retirement anytime soon.
