Apple continues to upgrade it's technology annually to serve its users insatiable appetite for more. Most recently, Apple released the iPhone X. One of the major features that sets the phone apart is its camera. These attributes pose a potential threat to the reigning camera champion, the DSLR.

A DSLR is a digital single-lens reflex camera. What does that mean? The body of the camera acts as a mirror that reflects the light coming through the lens enabling the photographer to capture the scene in real time. Despite DSLRs favorable abilities, the iPhone X has eliminated the  need to carry around the bulky camera and in turn has enabled users to have access to these qualities through their cameras via their phones.

DSLRs are popular for their capacity to focus on a subject and blurring the background while changing lenses. However most notably, the iPhone X has encapsulated this amenity through what is labeled portrait mode, allowing aspiring photographers to utilize their smartphones to fulfill their work. It is likely at Apples expected rate that the company will override the existence of DSLRs.
